The client knew they wanted a simple and classic design. We adapted the building to the steep, sloping terrain by dispersing its volume. In this case, we worked with the challenging topography to first outline the floor plans, leaving the building’s façade exposed and these horizontal spaces completely overhanging We played with the paving and materials to give a sense of continuity to the wrap-around garden and the pool, which is an important part of the design.
